Missions, Visions, and Manifestations
Manifestation is the practice of reflecting on positive inspirational thoughts in order to make them a reality. It is the intentional creation of our reality through the alignment of our being with our desired outcomes. Manifesting involves using our thoughts, feelings, and actions to attract what we want into our lives, and to create the circumstances we need to achieve our goals. Thinking—but also doing—it into existence, so to speak.
Not to confuse it with the law of attraction, which suggests that we can attract positive experiences and outcomes by focusing on positive thoughts and emotions. These two concepts go hand in hand in creating the ideal life we want and deserve.
As the idea of manifestations and affirmations grew in popularity over the recent years, so did the numerous ways to go about the process. While there is no “right” way to do it, some options are more popular than others.
So what is a Vision Map anyway?
Envisioning the life that you want for yourself and your loved ones is the first step to achieving it. Whether it's a new house, a job promotion, or a dream vacation, we often have a general idea of what we want.
In the era of Pinterest and moodboards, creating a vision board holds a familiar tune. We see nice photos that we like, we add it to our boards and have it somewhere we can always see it. But what’s next?
Vision mapping is taking vision boards one step further. It’s the process of creating a visual representation of your goals and aspirations. It involves creating a map that captures your desired future and helps you stay focused on your goals. The idea behind it is that when you visualize your goals and dreams, you are more likely to achieve them.
A vision map typically includes images, words, and phrases that represent your long-term goals, dreams, and aspirations. These can either be personal or professional, related to health, career, relationships, finances, or any other area of your life that you want to improve or change. A good rule of thumb to follow is to craft goals that come from the heart, rather than the analytical mind to avoid distractions that will prevent us from seeing what we truly want out of life. Make it as specific and detailed as possible, so that you can truly see and feel your desired future for use as a source of motivation and inspiration. Creating a visual representation of your goals and dreams serves as a tangible reminder of what you are working towards and why it matters.
You can do this activity by yourself, with your loved ones, or even with your community. Vision Mapping is a powerful tool to help you stay focused, motivated, and on track towards realizing your aspirations.
