Gratitude in Action
I carry around a stack of these business cards everywhere I go, I call them the “Gratitude Cards” and hand them out to people who impact my day in a unique and positive way. I give them to my neighbors, colleagues, even servers or my favorite hairdresser who I always go to. It’s important for me to let the people I interact with know that I see them, and I appreciate them.
Kindness creates a positive environment. It’s contagious. It’s inspiring. When people are kind, it fosters a sense of community and teamwork which builds strong relationships and friendships. I think it’s important for us to be able to impact someone else’s mood in every small way that we could. I believe that being kind creates a ripple effect of positivity. When you show kindness to someone, they may be more likely to extend that kindness to others which creates a chain reaction of positivity that can spread throughout the community. This way, a single act of kindness can have a significant impact on the community as a whole.
Especially as a mom, it’s very important for me to know that my kids grow up with kindness and empathy instilled in them from a young age. One of the best ways to do this is by modeling kindness and respect towards others, regardless of their social status. That they shouldn’t be kind to just their friends, but to everyone they are surrounded with.
